Screening and filtration media designed around water quality, loading and cleaning
Water applications range from coarse equipment protection to fine suspended-solids capture. A reliable solution starts with water chemistry, particle distribution, peak flow, allowable head loss and the actual backwash or cleaning method. We supply woven filter mesh, cylinders, discs, baskets, perforated supports and welded guards for process water, wastewater, stormwater and environmental equipment.
What Customers Need to Control
- Head loss rises quickly because solids loading was underestimated
- Fine particles or fibres bypass a poorly sealed element
- Backwash or high-pressure cleaning deforms unsupported mesh
- Chloride, oxidants or stagnant crevices shorten service life
Application-to-Solution Matrix
| Process / Duty | Recommended Mesh Solution | Key Selection Inputs |
|---|---|---|
| Intake and pump protection | Coarse woven/crimped screen, basket or welded guard | Debris size, approach velocity, open area, removal access |
| Process-water filtration | Fine woven or Dutch-weave element with support | Particle distribution, flow, clean/dirty head loss, backwash |
| Wastewater screening | Robust screen panels, cylinders or baskets | Fibres, grease, grit, impact, cleaning method |
| Stormwater/micro-debris capture | Engineered fine stainless mesh cartridge or insert | Design storm, sediment load, bypass, maintenance interval |
Verified Data & Public Application Evidence
Public industry case
Public quantified case — Copenhagen road runoff. In a real-world pilot, GKD reports that its CAPTURION stainless-steel drain insert removed up to 97% of total suspended solids. Compared with the reference setup, the pilot captured 129% more filterable substances and 127% more tire-abrasion marker particles in the stated 6–250 µm range. Results belong to that product, site and test design; they are evidence that fine metal mesh can work in stormwater when hydraulics and maintenance are engineered together, not a Kangyao performance claim.
Engineering interpretation
Design rule: micron rating alone cannot size a water filter. Peak flow, solids concentration, particle shape, viscosity, fouling behaviour, open area and the terminal head-loss criterion determine effective area and maintenance frequency.
